Addiction to Love

One plus one; two, just two.
Who could or would argue;
As in spring full of flowers, winter white as snow,
Summer radiant with heat
And no one there to disagree.
Life, endless, every breath precious;
And no sign of darkness, not even a hint or clue.
Then, one plus one turned to only one, just one.
How could that be,
 Just like a winter with no snow,
A summer with no heat.
Oh, how treacherous, the sky was no longer blue.
Life turned aimless, one plus one no longer a two.
Like a galaxy with no light or hue.
Though seconds add to hours, hours to days and years;
The chance of having one plus one as a two
Turned just as remote as
Repairing a broken heart
With a jar of Superglue.
Run, run, chase the dream;
